Social Skills Curriculum

The philosophy within the Girls and Boys Town Education Model (GBTEM) regarding social skills instruction is that problem behaviors demonstrated by young people are viewed as deficits of the youth’s repertoire of these skills and that active, direct instruction is key to remediation and growth.  The faculty and staff at Central Alternative School and the Transitional Learning Center use the Girls and Boys Town Education Model social skills curriculum to teach and reinforce needed social skills daily.
